Salesperson's 77-HOUR Prelicensing Course


COURSE FORMAT & GUIDELINES

Effective, December 21, 2022 the NY Salesperson's 75 Hour Prelicensing Course has been expanded to 77 hours. It is offered monthly at Cusack Center. Classes are offered in-classroom and may also be livestreamed using a reliable internet connection and on any compliant device with the excption of cell phones. The livestream is synchronous with the classroom instruction and attendance requirements are the same for both in-classroom and livestream students. 10% of the course hours (7.7 hours) may be missed without having to make up those hoiurs. However, additional time beyond 10% of the class time must be made up in a future course offering of the subject matter that was missed, This topic make-up requirement must be completed within a limited time from initial enrollment to avoid extension fees or duplicate tuition costs. A licensing candidate may take the course final examination only upon satisfactory completion of the attendance and course fee requirements. An exam score of 70% must be achieved in order to receive a certificate of satisfactory completion of this course. One makeup exam is available in the event the student requires a second attempt at taking the exam. To obtain a real estate Salesperson's license, a candidate must complete both the classroom course requirements including exam in addition to successfully passing the NYS Licensing Exam administered at NYS designated testing sites.

PREREQUISITES:

Applicants for the NY Real Estate License must be eighteen years of age and must be free from felony conviction in the State of New York and elsewhere.

INCLUSIVE COURSE FEES:

Course tuition incluldes a reference text (subject to change), student workbook and templates of forms and disclosures in use in the transaction of real estate. Applied case study examples are provided to reinforce the understanding of the facts and principles taught in lectures. Registered students have access to daily or weekly recordings of the classroom live feed for the duration of the student's participation in class and access to a Review Portfolio of pre-recorded Q & A course content to assisst in exam prep for both class and State exams for as long as the student requires exam prep for either exam, within reason.

LICENSE RECIPROCITY & RECOGNITION

As a point of interest, regardless of whether you are interested in residential or commercial real estate, property management or other areas if real estate, there is one (1) license. This is mentioned because people frequently are looking for a commercial or property management license and as you will learn under License Law & Regulations, these activities are governed by one license.

If you are moving to or away from the State of New York, it is incumbent upon you to check with the Division of Licensing or Real Estate Commission of any other State whether or not your license will be recognized by the state of your destination as there is not one (1) nationally recognized real estate license. Transfer of real property is regulated on a state by state basis, not at the federal level.
