Red Flags-A Property Inspection Guide

COURSE DESCRIPTION
This 7.5 hour Real Estate, Appraisal and Home Inspection Continuing Education approved course will define the appropriate roles of the real estate practitioner, the appraiser, the home inspector and engineer, as these issues relate to value, liability and structural integrity of residential real estate. It will include a detailed discussion of the anatomy of a home inspection, examining both interior and exterior visual indications of potential or existing defects. Environmental issues and hazards as they relate to the inspection of residential real estate will also be discussed. Existing law and proposed legislation relating to the topic of home inspection will be examined.

As a result of this course, students will become familiar with issues affecting structural and environmental factors affecting the buying and selling of real estate. Participants will be able to recognize and identify the need for further investigation by a professional expert in the area under consideration.
