Team Building

OVERVIEW: This program component is a direct extension of the Facilitation Skills component as it relates to the facilitation of groups and team behavior. At the conclusion of this program component, participants will have a clear understanding of the foundations and skills for building effective teams from a leadership perspective. Managing group discussions, problem-solving and decision-making in a consensus building environment will be experienced by workshop participants through interactive exercises and simulated role play and dialogues. From the leadership perspective, participants will learn the skills necessary to facilitate productive relationships and an awareness of the value of positive group dynamics. In leading individuals as team members, a stakeholder strategy will be developed, intended to build shared vision and organizational purpose. Its purpose is to encourage and enhance team learning, team roles and responsibilities over established timelines. This component will provide participants with essential skills needed for effective team leadership, team building and team facilitation.
DURATION: Half-day, full day or extended multiple-day workshops
LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

- Develop team roles, responsibilities and timelines.
FORMAT: This workshop is designed to be highly participatory and interactive. Certain key concepts, which will be used through the workshop experience, will be presented and discussed initially. Using a "practice and feedback" loop approach, participants will gain an understanding of the processes of effective communication, and how these components can be modified for maximum results.
