Beliefs, Values &, Attitudes
|
OVERVIEW: At the conclusion of this program component, participants will have achieved a better awareness of the impact of the beliefs and generalizations they make about themselves, their environment, and others with whom they interact. In understanding the role of beliefs as the mobilizer of behavior, participants will arrive at a better understanding of the underlying motivators of themselves and others around them. Examining core beliefs and values, as well as more flexible ones will allow workshop participants preliminary insights into one of the essential components of change at both the individual, group and organizational level.
DURATION: Half-day, full day or extended multiple-day workshops
LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
- Understand how beliefs mobilize behavior.
- Distinguish between beliefs and values.
- Identify core v. flexible beliefs.
- Develop an awareness of beliefs and values (one's own and those of others).
- Examine the nature of enabling vs. limiting beliefs.
- Gain insight into changeable beliefs and values at the individual and group level.
FORMAT: This workshop is designed to be highly participatory and interactive. Certain key concepts, which will be used through the workshop experience, will be presented and discussed initially. Using a "practice and feedback" loop approach, participants will gain an understanding of the processes of effective communication, and how these components can be modified for maximum results.
